Have you ever been a teacher? I have never experienced being
a teacher and standing in front of the class teaching students. Some weeks ago,
my English teacher gave us this experience. Whoaa! What an experience! For me, being
a teacher was a stressful experience. Moreover being a history teacher, it is
really a challenging experience! I have to make the lesson interesting, keep
the students awake, choose right topic, and create the right teaching aid.
In fact, being a teacher is not an easy job at all. We must
prepare the lesson plan, the material, the references, the exercises, the quiz,
and many more. It takes several days to look for the material and references.
At last I found an interesting topic from National Geographic magazine. That is
about “The Lost Metropolitan” i.e Trowulan, Mojokerto, Jawa Timur, the center
of Majapahit’s Kingdom. I was very astonished when reading the article. In that
ancient time, our ancestor had been successfully built such a modern living
spaces so I want to share this knowledge to my students who are my classmates.
When I presented this material in front of the class, the
students were very enthusiastic. Many students asked several questions about the
material. We were having fun by doing the quizzes and game. None of them got
bored or sleepy with the material. The class became alive and cheerful.
That’s my unforgettable and precious experience during my
senior high school years :)
You gave a wonderful presentation about trowulan, i still remember a few things from your presentation.
