My Experience Being a Teacher for a Day

Teacher is a noble profession. At least that's what people say. In the past, I didn't believe any of it. I used to think that teachers always do what they want and always giving heavy task to students, while they're having it easy. Well, when I recieved and did the task from my English teacher to take her place as a teacher for a day, I was shocked, really. I never thought that I would be so wrong. Totally wrong.

The first time I recieved the task. I happily thought : "Finally, I'll become a teacher for a day! I can do whatever I want with my students." I think I can be in their shoes at that time. I was accompanied with Ryan in that task to be a History Teacher. Funny, that we're thinking the same topic for our lesson. Of course, we've just talked about Assassin's Creed 4 : Black Flag game that we have finished some time ago. So, the first thing that came to our mind, Pirates!.

Then we're given a small task to support our teaching performace, making the lesson plan. At first I thought making it is a lot of pain, More importantly, is teachers usually make this?. But as i tried to visualize what I'm going to do when I'm teaching the class, I couldn't imagine anything thus, I'm convinced of it's benefit.

Days later, our preparation was done and the teacher has announced that our turn would be coming. I have made the presentation as interesting and as fun as possible, and I felt ready for anything at that time. At least for the presentation. Everything is done beautifully and perfectly. And so I said to myself "I'm qualified to be a teacher". Looking back now, I think it's too early for me to say that.

That day was Saturday and we have 45 minutes to teach the class. I thought it will be a lot of fun. It turned out that it's half true and half wrong. I have fun explaining the lesson but no one seems to pay attention to us. I tried and tried to warn them but it's no use. They see me just as another friend, not a teacher teaching in their class. Plus, I can't punish them. I had no authority to do that. Well, what else I can do?. I decided to carry on explaining, no matter what. I'll tell you once, controlling the crowd is very, very hard. Well, thanks to our attempt to control the class, we lost a good deal of time. Thus, we can't do everything as planned.

In the end, I think we're halfway successful. We made a fun presentation but we flunk on crowd controlling. What's hard being a teacher is to control your students, making them interested in everything you said in front of them. Honestly, I never thought that being a teacher to be such difficult. All of this made me realize that peoples was right that teacher is a honorable proffession. It changed my view and respect to teacher. A little bit though.

I'm sure you're tired to read this freakingly long post. So I'll end it here. I hope that this changed your mind about teachers in your life. If you have diffrent story to tell, post it or pass them in the comments
